Advice for a friend
Känslor säger vi med I feel, I'm eller I was: I'm nervous about the test. Because säger varför: I was sad because we lost.
Råd ger vi med You could, du skulle kunna, eller Try to, försök att. Börja med att visa att du förstår: Don't worry, lots of people feel like that. Du skriver till en påhittad person, så du behöver inte berätta om dina egna känslor.
Don't worry. You could talk to your teacher. Det betyder: oroa dig inte. Du skulle kunna prata med din lärare.
Ask Amy
Dear Amy, I'm eleven and next month I'm going to start at a new school. My family is moving to a new town because of my mum's job. I'm really nervous. I don't know anybody there, and I'm worried that nobody will talk to me. At my old school I've got three good friends, and I'm going to miss them a lot. What can I do? Jamie Dear Jamie, Thank you for your letter. Don't worry. It's normal to feel nervous about a new school. Lots of people feel like that, and lots of people make new friends very quickly. Here are some ideas. On the first day, try to smile and say hello to the people next to you. You could ask a question, for example "What's the next lesson?" Most people like to help. You could also join a club after school. If you like football, music or drawing, you will meet people who like the same things. It's easier to talk when you are doing something together. You don't have to lose your old friends. You can call them, send them messages and visit them in the holidays. And remember: the other pupils are sometimes nervous too, even if they don't show it. Good luck! Amy
