What happened?

Så fungerar det

Vi vill berätta vad som hände i rätt ordning. Ord som first, then, after that, suddenly och finally visar ordningen. Suddenly, plötsligt, säger att något oväntat händer. Finally, till slut, visar att berättelsen är på väg att ta slut.

Många vanliga verb är oregelbundna i dåtid: go blir went, see blir saw, have blir had och find blir found. En berättelse kan vara sann eller påhittad. Går någon vilse i din berättelse, låt hen göra som Omar: fråga en vuxen som jobbar där, i en affär, på bussen eller på stationen, eller ringa hem. Läs din berättelse högt en gång till och hör om ordningen är tydlig.

Suddenly the dog ran away. Det betyder: plötsligt sprang hunden iväg.

The wrong bus

Last Saturday was the day of the big football match. Omar was very excited. First, he had breakfast and put on his blue team shirt. Then he ran to the bus stop with his bag. A bus came, and Omar got on. He sat by the window and listened to music. After twenty minutes he looked out of the window. Where was the football ground? He saw fields, cows and a small village. Suddenly he understood. It was the wrong bus! Omar got off at the next stop. He felt cold and a bit scared, and his phone battery was dead. Next to the stop there was a small village shop, so he went in and spoke to the woman at the till. "Excuse me, I'm lost," said Omar. "Can I use your phone to call my dad?" She smiled and gave him the shop phone. His dad called Omar's coach, who lived in the next village and was just leaving for the match. Ten minutes later the coach's red car stopped outside the shop, exactly where Omar's dad had told her. Omar said thank you to the shop assistant and got in. Finally, they arrived at the ground just in time. Omar played well and his team won three to one. After the match the coach laughed. "Next time, take the right bus!"
